Quaker Steel Cut 3-Minute Oats Review!

Do you find yourself in a mindless rush most mornings? Trying to get the kids ready and fed, leaving little time for yourself?

I received a complimentary box of the new Quaker Steel Cut 3-Minute Oats from Quaker and BzzAgent to test and review for you. I was given the option of blueberries & cranberries OR brown sugar & cinnamon — I chose blueberries & cranberries.

I am so thrilled to be testing the Quaker Steel Cut 3-Minute Oats for my first campaign from BzzAgent. My daughter and I enjoy a bowl of organic steel cut oats with fresh fruit at least 3-4 times a week. Before this campaign, I had never heard of or seen instant steel cut oats, so you can imagine how excited I was about this.

The kit from BzzAgent included 1 box (8 packets) of Quaker Steel Cut 3-Minute Oats in Blueberries & Cranberries and 4 $2 off coupons to use and to share.

I absolutely love how convenient these little packets of hearty goodness are. Making steel cut oats can be a tedious task, but the new Quaker Steel Cut 3-Minute Oats solve this problem! They’re perfect for those mornings when you find yourself rushing out the door.

The ingredients include: whole grain steel cut oats, sugar, dried blueberries, dried cranberries, salt, natural flavor.

Nutritional information for 1 packet is: 170 calories, 2.5g of fat, 0.5g saturated fat, 0.5g polyunsaturated fat, 1g monounsaturated fat, 210mg sodium, 135mg potassium, 34g carbohydrates, 3g dietary fiber, 1g soluble fiber, 12g sugar, 4g protein.

Here are my pros and cons for this product.

– Simple and convenient.
– Great taste.
– Made with whole grain steel cut oats.
– Great brand.

– 1 packet serving size. I didn’t find this to be enough to fill me up. I have to make 2 packets rather than 1.
– Sugar. This is huge for me. 12g of sugar for ONE packet. I make 2 . . . so that’s 24g of sugar. It’s recommended that women don’t consume more than 25g of sugar a day. Think about that for a minute! If you don’t believe me, do some research. A good source to check is the American Heart Association.
– Not very many dried blueberries & cranberries.

With that being said, I hope you check these out. Let me know what you think! I’m team blueberries & cranberries. What team will you join? 🙂

Be on the look out! I’m gathering a few of my favorite products together so I can put together a giveaway for my followers. I should have that up really soon! 🙂 I’m also in the planning stages of an e-cookbook. I’m not sure when that will be available though. I’m trying to juggle studying law full-time and being a full-time mommy and wife. My husband and I are also starting our own business, so this should be fun!
